On our four day bus tour to Moosonee and Moose Factory we passed by Englehart, Ontario on our way to Cochrane. My great-grandmother Hannah Catherine Parlee (Allen) died at Tomstown, Temiskaming, ON, Canada and was buried at Englehart, Temiskaming, ON, Canada. An item on my list of things to do is to drive back there on our own and have a look at her tombstone.
Her husband James C Allen died at Baysville, McLean Township, Muskoka, Ontario and is buried at Baysville (no tombstone, just a tin plate on a wood plaque). We visited that one last summer. It was really hard to find, however, we had some local help after contacting the township offices at Baysville. The local person had an interest in local history and had a cemetery plan which allowed us to locate the Allen plot.
